Filter Cleaning

  • We Provide a Filter service that includes removing the old sand/glass from your pool filter once it has reached the end of its filtration effectiveness and replacing it with fresh sand/glass, as well as inspecting the filters component parts and giving it a thorough clean, but how do you know when its time for this change?

  • Some signs you need to replace the sand/glass include: pressure buildup, channeling, and cloudy water.

  • You should backwash your sand filter every 2-4 weeks and deep clean at least once a year

  • Sometimes cleaning your filter sand is not enough, and you will need to replace the sand completely. Over time, the sharp edges of the sand particles wear down and can no longer catch debris in the filter.

  • As long as you keep up maintenance though your pool filter sand/glass should last you up to 5 years.

  • There’s a sweet spot for how old your sand should be. Pool sand is most effective after about 2 years of use, so changing the sand more often does not necessarily mean your filter will work better.

  • Pool chemical levels can be crucial to the health of swimmers, as well as the health of the pool. Unsanitary water, stains and corrosion are common in pools with consistently unbalanced pool water.

  • Rest assured however that any problem with your pool water, we can rectify it and get you back swimming as soon as possible

In Addition

We can identify and rectify the following additional water issues, resulting in unpleasant green pool water:

  • High phosphate levels

  • High Cyanuric Acid Levels

  • High levels of Metals and minerals present
